WION launches new US primetime show

WORLD DNA aims to provide up-to-date information from around the world to viewers in different time zones.

In an effort to increase its reach and viewership in the U.S. market, WION, India’s only international news channel, recently announced the launch of its new show, WORLD DNA.

The show that will condense the world’s top news into one episode will adopt a unique conversation tone featuring two anchors, Hem Kaur Saroya and Rohit Wellington. Airing live everyday at 10 p.m. EST, the show aims to keep American and Asian audiences informed on the news that will impact their present and set an agenda for the future.

Commenting on the new show, chief  business officer, WION, Madhu Soman said, “With World DNA, we want to dig a bit deeper and help us and our audience understand what connects us, brings many together while driving a few others apart. The show’s twin-anchor format from our editorial epicentre in Delhi NCR, with inputs from our bureaus around the world and sectoral updates, will not only capture what happened overnight in Europe and US but also set the agenda for Asia.”
