Indian-origin cop Tanvir Brar lost a case against the Queensland Police Service in Australia, in which je demanded that the authorities reinstate him as an officer after terminating his contract in 2019.

According to the media, Brar was terminated after he was involved in a fight at a strip club, where he was celebrating his bachelor party. He filed a complaint against his termination saying the decision was “harsh, unjust, or unreasonable.”

His plea was heard by the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission (QIRC) recently who delivered the verdict that the QPS’s decision was formed on reasonable grounds.

The former cop, who was in an inebriated state, was accused of unprofessional personal conduct toward employees at a strip club, unauthorised and unjustified access to confidential police records on multiple occasions, displaying behaviour which did not align with the employee code of the Queensland Police Service.

Brar entered service with the QPS as a police recruit in 2017 and in May 2018 he was sworn in as a probationary Constable. He was dismissed from service on June 8, 2020.  An Assistant Commissioner observed Brar's argumentative, rude, and aggressive behaviour and said that he was not suitable to be a constable in the QPS.
