Telangana IOC hosts reception for congress leaders in NJ

The influential Congress leaders also participated in the annual TANA convention in Philadelphia

The Telangana Chapter of the Indian Overseas Congress (IOC) organized an event to welcome and honor Anumula Revanth Reddy, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president and Member of Parliament (MP), and Dansari Anasuya, MLA of Mulugu District, Government of Telangana. The reception and dinner, organized at Jhopdi Restaurant in Plainsboro, New Jersey, was attended by community members and leaders.

The two legislative members - Reddy and Anasuya - were invited to the United States by the American Telugu Association (ATA) to participate in their three-day convention held in Philadelphia. According to a press statement, the convention provided an opportunity for Telangana residents to meet and greet the influential Congress leaders, and acted as a platform to steer unity as well as strengthen the bond between the Telangana community and the Indian Overseas Congress (IOC).

Distinguished guests who were at the event included Mohinder Singh Gilzian, IOC president; Harbachan Singh, IOC secretary general; Rajeshwar Reddy, IOC Telangana Chapter president; and Ram Gadula, chairman of the Telangana Chapter. Members from the IOC New Jersey Chapter included president Peter Kothari and chairman Harkesh Thakur.

Reddy, who joined Congress in 2017, represents the Malkajgiri constituency in Telangana. He was formerly a two-time Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing the Kodangal constituency from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). Meanwhile, Anasuya was appointed the general secretary of the All India Mahila Congress in June 2018 and as the state in charge of Chhattisgarh Mahila Congress in August 2019.
