India organizes beach clean-up as part of G20 Presidency

The initiative aimed to control marine and coastal pollution

As part of India’s current G20 presidency, the country organized beach clean-ups across various locations around the world through its embassies. The initiatives have been organized to raise awareness of the need of controlling coastal and marine pollution as well as encouraging citizens to participate in the same.

United Kingdom

The beach clean-up was organized at Brighton Beach in London on May 21 with the massive participation of the local community. Vikram Doraiswami, the Indian envoy, and the mayor of Brighton and Hove City Council who spoke to the volunteers during the event also pledged to help with the G20 big beach cleanup.
