Indian badminton star PV Sindhu’s poor form continued when she played against Gao Fang Jie of China in the 2023 US Open quarter-finals which she lost in straight sets.

Two-time Olympic medallist Sindhu acknowledged the defeat as having a significant emotional impact, particularly considering the “challenging and demanding year” she had. However, she said she is determined to channel her emotions into redoubling efforts and making the rest of the year truly ‘remarkable’.
