OpenAI CEO Sam Altman on his tour of India and other Asian countries met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed India’s impressive tech ecosystem and how the country could benefit from Artificial Intelligence (AI). The meeting comes against the backdrop of the intensification of the global debate on regulating AI companies.

Sharing a picture of their meeting on Twitter, Modi wrote, “Thank you for the insightful conversation Sam Altman. The potential of AI in enhancing India’s tech ecosystem is indeed vast and that too among the youth in particular. We welcome all collaborations that can accelerate our digital transformation for empowering our citizens.”
