Adipurush to premiere at Tribeca Film Festival

Ram and Sita will be played by Prabhas and Kriti while actor Devdatta Nage will be seen in the movie as Hanuman and Saif Ali Khan as the antagonist Lankesh.

Om Raut’s Adipurush, based on the Ramayana, starring Tollywood superstar Prabhas (Baahubali I and II), Bollywood legend Saif Ali Khan, (Sacred Games), and Kriti Sanon will have its world premiere at the 2023 edition of the Tribeca Film Festival in New York on June 15.

Ram and Sita will be played by Prabhas and Kriti while actor Devdatta Nage will be seen in the movie as Hanuman and Saif Ali Khan as the antagonist Lankesh.

“Featuring this costume epic of good versus evil takes us on a Prince’s quest. With a monkey army by his side, he must free his beloved bride from the clutches of a ten-headed demon. Join us as we welcome the stars and creators of Adipurush to Tribeca for this joyous 3D World Premiere,” the festival’s website reads.

The 174-minute-long movie was shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu. It will release in IMAX and 3D in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam languages with English subtitles. At the Tribeca film festival, Adipurush will be premiered as part of their “Escape from Tribeca” offering which features movies that are meant to be enjoyed in large groups in packed theatres, as per the event’s website. Currently, tickets for Adipurush are sold out at both AMC 19th St. East 6 and the SVA Theater.

Reacting to the honor, Raut said on Twitter, “Beyond Excited and Honored! I am immensely grateful for the relentless efforts of team Adipurush and thanks to the entire jury of Tribeca. Can't wait to let Adipurush's grandeur unfold at Tribeca2023!.”

The 22nd edition of the Tribeca Film Festival, founded by Hollywood actor Robert De Niro along with Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff,  scheduled to take place from June 7 to June 18 in New York.
