Mandaviya to represent India at World Health Assembly

Dr. Mandaviya leads India's global health commitment at the 76th World Health Assembly, addressing key issues and fostering collaborations for health coverage and TB eradication.

Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya will represent India at the ongoing 76th World Health Assembly, which commenced on May 21. This significant gathering of global health leaders will discuss crucial issues related to public health, universal health coverage, and the future of the World Health Organization (WHO).

Underlining India's commitment to a healthier world, Dr Mandaviya will deliver a keynote address at two side events titled 'Heal in India and Heal by India' and 'Together We Fight Against TB.' These speeches will highlight India's contributions to the field of Medical Value Travel and its determination to eradicate Tuberculosis in the country by 2025.

 

Dr Mandaviya will hold bilateral meetings with representatives from various nations focussed on fostering healthcare collaborations. Countries on the agenda include Singapore, France, Netherlands, USA, Bangladesh, Argentina, Brazil, Qatar, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. A multilateral meeting is also scheduled with BRICS representatives (Brazil, Russia, China, and South Africa).

The assembly focuses on Universal Health Coverage, Public Health Emergencies, Health & Well-Being, and enhancing the World Health Organization's effectiveness and efficiency. It emphasises global collaborations and partnerships for resilient health architecture and achieving Universal Health Coverage through value-based healthcare.

Dr Mandaviya's presence reflects India's commitment to shaping the global health agenda. India aims to strengthen partnerships and advance global healthcare through discussions and meetings.
